Charring agent Flame Retardant for Cable can promote carbon formation at high temperatures, creating a dense carbon layer that isolates heat and oxygen, thereby delaying combustion. 2.Due to Charring agent Flame Retardant for Cable's high specific surface area and electrical conductivity, it can simultaneously improve the flame retardancy and anti-static performance of PVC. 3.Charring agent Flame Retardant for Cable is often compounded with metal hydroxides (such as aluminum hydroxide and magnesium hydroxide) or phosphorus-based flame retardants to enhance the flame retardant grade of PVC cables through a synergistic effect 4.Charring agent Plastic grade is necessary to balance the flame retardant effect with the flexibility and durability of the cable.

Charring agent for cable materials are additives used in PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) cables to enhance flame retardancy by promoting the formation of a protective char layer during combustion. This char layer acts as a barrier, slowing down heat and oxygen transfer, thus improving fire resistance.


Charring agent for cable materials for PVC Cables

1.Metal Hydroxides

  • Aluminum Trihydroxide (ATH) and Magnesium Hydroxide (MDH) are widely used.

  • Charring agent for cable materials decompose endothermically, releasing water vapor, which cools the flame and promotes char formation.

  • Typical loading: 50-65% by weight in PVC compounds.


2.Zinc Borate (Zn₃B₆O₁₂·3.5H₂O)

  • Charring agent powder For Cable Acts as a synergist with ATH/MDH.

  • Charring agent powder For Cable Promotes char formation and suppresses smoke.


3.Expandable Graphite

  • Charring agent powder For Cable Expands when exposed to heat, forming an insulating char layer.

4.Phosphorus-based Compounds

  • Ammonium Polyphosphate (APP) – Charring agent Plastic grade Promotes charring via intumescent action.

5.Nanoclays & Silicates
